NYE

On NYE there was some sort of race right outside our home.  We were on our way back from the store when we ran into the crowd.  There were people everywhere...here are some pics.

Jeff's says...

he doesn't like cats.  While we were in Athens visiting the Temple of Zeus a stray cat took a liking to Jeff.  Cali, the name I gave the cat, jumped right on Jeff's lap for some lovin'.  Cali purred up a storm and kneeded his jacket...it was the sweetest thing.

Amsterdam: Part 3

During our stay in Amsterdam Jeff and I went liquor tasting at the House of Bols.  Bol's is sold in the US among other countries.  They also make the little KLM canal houses Jeff has started to collect.  Inside the houses is Gin and is given to all KLM business and first class passengers.

These are the houses...there are 91 to collect.  Jeff has all of 7 as of today.

Here you could identify each liquor by scent.  I did pretty well.

Of course we spent some time in the Red Light District, during the day and at night.  The district has been going through a transformation in the past few years and brought in nice restaurants, lounges and boutique shops.  There are still sex shops, sex shows and girls dancing in the windows if that is your thing.

I noticed this cat in a restaurant window.  He/she was sitting on top a dining table look out at all the people passing by.

Amsterdam: Part 2

Here is the second installment of our trip to Amsterdam...I have one more to post.

A canal house.

Everyone in Amsterdam seems to ride a bike.  There are TONS of bikes everywhere as well as bike lanes on the streets.  Below are two pictures of different bikes that parents use to transport their kids.  The kids sit up in the front basket while the parents peddle behind.

A coffee shop, not sure if they serve coffee or not.  You can get pot though.

Chocolate.

On our last day in Amsterdam we had English tea service.  It was fabulous!  There was also a tray of quiches and small sandwiches that I forgot to take a picture of.

Where we had pancakes.

Jeff had the German pancake with grilled apples and two scoops of cinnamon ice cream.  I just had a regular one so no need for a picture.

The Ann Frank House.
